Scranton or Bust

Recently, I have been asked why my blog doesn't get updated more. The truth of the matter is, I am a writer. It's what I do...it's my job. So, it's hard for me to get motivated to do it on the site, as well. I will try to be better. I promise!
Well, tonight I leave for Scranton, Pennsylvania for The Office Convention. We take the red eye leaving tonight from LAX. It's going to be fun, overwhelming, and entertaining all at the same time. I can't wait. Make sure to check out NBC.com for daily updates starting on Friday and then check by with this blog next week for more in-depth details about the trip. Or, at least I will try to give you more in-depth details. I should learn not to promise anything. :)

Where in the world...?

I AM BACK! Yes, I know I disappeared for awhile and many of you were about to file a missing persons report, but I found my way back to blogland.
I had a wonderful birthday party with some very cool friends the weekend after I returned from Vegas.
Besides that, 28 hasn't been too bad. A little bit of this and a little bit of that. I do have a fabulous trip to Scranton, Pennsylvania planned for The Office Convention. For a nice little update, The Office is the NBC show in which I provide NBC.com content for. This show has provided me a lot of perks, including a trip to the Emmys with Oscar Nunez and giving me my very own Webby. Now, I get to travel with the cast and party like the rockstars we are once we arrive. I really can't wait for the experience. And yes, there will be a lot of work involved. I mean, even Tommy Lee and Bret Michaels have to earn all of their perks! So, stay tuned and check back regularly. I swear, I will be a lot better at updating.

Mi Vida Loca

So, I got back from Vegas on Sunday night after a weekend of craziness. I had a reunion with two fabulous girlfriends from Oregon and one friend of a friend from Wisconsin. By the end of the trip, I would like to consider Miss Wisconsin a friend, as well. The first night was all party all the way. After going out to a nice dinner, the girls and I put on our dancing shoes and headed to The Wynn casino and went to Blush. A very pretentious, "don't you know who I am" kind of a place. Needless, to say, it was not fun. But, then we went to Tryst, which was a lot better. Not only did cute girls like ourselves not have to wait in any lame lines, we got VIP tables and had very cute South American boys to dance with the whole night. The next day, was lowkey, until my wallet got pickpocketed. YES! That's a true story! In New York, New York out of all places. I had the ultimate Village experience I guess. I flipped out a bit, but after Sam calmed me down, I managed to collect my thoughts and realize that life was life and I was more lucky to be with good friends. So, after partying at The Bellagio, we ended our night playing slots back at the hotel and bonding over free vodka drinks. The next morning, I took the girls to the airport and continued the painful drive back to LA. As soon as I arrived back in LA, I had to run to Venice, borrow a dress, run to Santa Monica to get ready and then attend the party of all parties at the DirecTV after-Emmys party. Everybody who was anybody was there! I got to share a dancefloor with Paris Hilton as the clock struck midnight on my birthday! No worries, I soaked myself in bleach, afterwards!

A new phone, a new friend

I have been lucky out here in my short time living here in LA. I have met some very good people who I would call very good friends. The type of friend you can call up, hang out with, and confide in. I like those type of friends. Last night, I think I met a real, honest to goodness friend.
I had to buy a new Motorola Q cell phone because of the "incident" in Nashville and the going price was 500 dollars! So, I browsed the helpful site, Craigs List, in hopes somebody would be selling their new phone a bit cheaper. Sure enough, I found Tiffany's ad. It was her sister's phone and her company had recently switched carriers, meaning she had a perfectly new phone without a home. I called up and set up a meeting with Tiffany at a coffee shop. Well, it wasn't just an exchange of money for a phone...we ended up talking for almost 3 hours. We set up plans to hang out, grab dinner, and gab about life in LA. Yes, it was a bit strange cutting her a check after coffee and I am sure people thought that I was paying for her to be my friend for a few hours. Wait...do you think I can make money doing that? Hmmmm. Anyway, I met a new friend when I just thought I was in for a new phone. Now, only if I was friends with people at the DMV who could help me with getting my license faster!

A new week

This last weekend was very nice and didn't require me to have to do anything with photo ID :)
A little bit of surfing, a little bit of hanging with friends, and a little bit of wine. I am still waiting patiently for that California license to come in the mail. I wonder, do Paris or J.Lo have to wait this long?
I have a busy week ahead of me that includes buying a new camera, preparing for a very busy week at work, and taking care of last minute details before driving to Las Vegas to test my charm on Lady Luck. I am not much of a gambler, but I am looking forward to meeting up with some very good friends and I am not talking about Mr. Kettle One or Mr. Tonic. These are good friends from Oregon! Hopefully, I will have great stories to share, along with some great pictures. No worries, the scandalous ones will be removed before the blog goes live :)

TGIF

So, I woke up at 6am this morning to go to the DMV to wait in line for a hour to get my license. Easy enough, right? Um, no. After applying for the license, passing the vision test and then passing the written test, I was told I couldn't get a license without the Oregon DMV mailing proof that I had a license before. I could get a learner's permit. So, after a breakdown (again!) at the DMV, I was told that I could take the drivers test and if I passed, I would be able to get a license. So, after waiting for the kind old DMV lady to fix the information she had previously entered wrong in the computer, I had to take another picture and wait in another line for my drivers test. Well, after passing that, I had to wait in another line to get my license issued. Well, they had to issue me a piece of paper to allow me to drive and said my license would be in the mail and could arrive as early as three days or as late as three weeks. And that was the same process for any type of photo identity. So, keeping my cool and keeping me spirits up, I am hoping I get my license before Vegas, which is next weekend. Or, I will be downing virgin pina colodas like there is no tomorrow from my hotel room while my friends party is up like there really is NO tomorrow in all the clubs.
Needless to say, all of my weekend plans have been cancelled, due to my identity issue and after surfing, I'll be catching up on past season's of Weeds. So, give me a call, I'll be around!

Ugh!!!

I think my title says it all, don't you? Who knew it was such a pain to try to claim your identity back. I understand, I am now living in a post 9/11 era, where everybody is suspicious of something. But, it's still enough to make a girl flip out. It started with me trying to get a new passport. Well, first I needed a birth certificate. Lucky for me, I was born in Los Angeles, so I could drive to the Civic Building in Van Nuys, waiting in a stinky line and pay money to purchase one. This morning, I woke up early, drove to the passport place, with my terrible passport pictures in hand, along with my birth certificate and my friend, Mytch (to vouch I was who I said I was, since I get confused for Charlize Theron all the time) and they put the application through. For 40 dollars, I could get my passport in early December, the day before my trip to Costa Rica! I couldn't take the risk, so I paid close to 200 dollars to get it to me faster. Ugh. Then, I went to the stinky DMV in the middle of nowhere in the hot Valley to get my new license. Well, I had to have a birth certificate in order to process my application, one that I had just given the passport people that morning! So, they told me to come back with one, and I lost it. Remember Falling Down with Michael Douglas? That was me without the baseball bat or horned rimmed glasses. I went to my car and cried. Because everything had hit me, my entire purse was gone in Nashville, my ID cards gone, my camera with pictures gone, my make up gone, my Motorola Q phone with my contacts gone. My car dealer called me up to check on my recent car purchase shortly after this DMV incident and I cried to him. Bless his heart, he actually listened to me and talked me through my ordeal. Thank God for car dealers like Rafeal! After gathering myself up, I drove back to the Civic Building, stood in the stinky line and purchased ANOTHER birth certificate. I will go back to the DMV tomorrow at 7.30 am and stand in line for a half an hour in hopes of getting my license. Wish me luck, because if this doesn't go through, I just might go purchase the baseball bat and horn rimmed glasses! Well, at least the glasses.
