Maya's Wedding

I spend my Fourth of July weekend in Boulder, Colorado to attend one of my closest friends, Maya's wedding. I was a bridesmaid for the first time and it was fun and emotional. First off, I instantly fell in love with Colorado. Such a clean, beautiful, and friendly state. I arrived on the fourth and was just in time to attend the rooftop picnic at a local pub for a meet and greet of sorts for wedding guests. Later that evening, we donned on our dresses, rehearsed for the wedding, and then went to a fabulous dinner on the outskirts of town. After dinner, a group of us went out bar hopping. It was a lot of fun.
The next day was the bridesmaid brunch, followed by pictures, a little rain, then perfectly clear skies for Maya to walk down the aisle. I am usually the one to never get emotional, but watching Maya and her husband, Jim, recite such beautiful vows made me get choked up. I actually had tears falling! It was very special to see two people share in such a bond and it was also an amazing feeling to see a friend that I loved so much be so happy. Maya and I have a friendship that goes back more than 20 years, so needless to say, she is a very dear to me.
The next couple of days, I was solo in Boulder while the rest of the parties left. I met new friends from New York who were in town for a wedding, too. It was fun exploring the city with strangers, because by the end of our trip (we both shared a shuttle back to the airport) we could call each other friends and I really hope we all stay in contact.
